iacv or map sensor?

Post by 907itr »

still having idling problem. rpm jumps from 1000rpm to 500 rpm to 1700rpm back and forth. even when cruising at 45mph, i can feel the rpm twitching. i have removed the iacv and cleaned it with carb cleaner, car runs perfect for 1 week with normal rpm, then after a week, car went crazy again changing rpm from 1000rpm to 1700 rpm at idle. could it be the iacv or the map sensor?

what will a faulty map sensor feels like? compare to a faulty iacv?

any suggestion would be appreciated.

IACV is only active at idle, so if you feel it when your driving its not it. It sounds like it could be a vacum leak. Check your hoses. Or even your TPS, check the voltage.

AT CRUISING SPEED AT 45MPH, ONCE I STEPPED ON THE CLUTCH, THE RPM FALLS TO 2K RPM, ISN'T SUPPOSE TO GO DOWN TO NORMAL IDLE 800RPM? SEEMS LIKE ONCE I STEPPED ON THE CLUTCH, MY THROTTLE IS STILL OPEN, BECAUSE THE RPM STILL HANG IN 2K FOR ABOUT 5 SECOND THEN IT DROPS TO 1150K, IT NEVER REACHES 800RPM. EVEN AT COMPLETE STOP. WEIRD.

COULD IT BE THE TPS SENSOR? ANYONE WITH THE SAME SYMPOMS?

Sounds like a vaccum leak, check your vacum lines.

same problem...need help

got my new iacv, installed it and still having rough idling. i followed the instruction on the service manuel, i tested the iacv electrical plug, has voltage (1.80) and its steady. service manual now states to replace ecu. i checked all vaccuum hoses that leads to the manifold. no leak. vaccuum reads 22psi

any one have that same problem?

rough idling at cold start, no CEL, rought idling even when car is warmed up. cruising at 55mph, every time i stepped on the clutch to change gears, rpm falls to 1800rpm to 800rpm back and forth.

could this be from a ecu?

What ecu are you using?
And what map?

I see that you have a JRSC at 5 psi, so I would hope that you are using a tuned program
