How can I lower my ET???

I am trying to figure out how to lower my 1/4 mile time. I have a 2000 ITR with a 98JDM motor and tranny, stock LSD, and a Feels ECU. My VTEC engagement point is at 6000rpm and I have no fuel cutout point.

I launch at about 2500 RPM and I dump the clutch. Here is a sample of one of my timeslips from earlier this year.

I would like suggestions/guidance on how to lower my ET. Someome suggested launching at a higher RPM and feathering the clutch (which I dont know how to do GGNOOB). Any help I can get would be most appreciated. Thanx

How to improve your ET? Simple, you need to make more power..

you could try to improve your 60ft by launching at a higher rpm, or get better tires.

Stock R is going to be a high 14 second car though..not much you can do about that.

Exactly. Practice makes perfect for one. Good sticky tires help extremely with 60' times also. Either lighten the car or make more power!

....practice, practice, practice....thats what i did. I did 3 runs at the track. My first run i launched at i think 3k and ran a 14.5, my second run i launched at 4k and ran a 14.3....and my last run i launched at 6k and got my best time of 14 flat..trapped at 99mph

If you havent got a suspension setup, Omnipower makes a good drag suspension that will help drop 60' times.

try removing your power steering, lowering tire pressure. Try pulling out some seats, extra tire in the truck, ect ect. Not sure what else you could do besides spending more money to make u faster that hasnt been covered in the thread already. Thats a good MPH should see mid to low 14's with it

Thanks for all the replies, but I guess I should have been more exact with my wording. I was looking for ways to lower my ET without pulling any ricer moves i.e. gutting my car. I really wanted to see what the average was for the ITR in stock trim. Now I am off to break shit.

I am installing Apex'i N1 coilovers, a front camber kit, and I just got some new rubber.... A032R's....I will see what I pull at the track this Saturday, provided it doesn't rain or snow this weekend. Can you get me a link on those traction bars? I tried googling and turned up nil.

i use z10,had them on my car for at least 4 years( i bought them as soon as they came out).they definitly help with launching and wheel hope issues, plus they make the car feel more stable and solid at high speeds and even cornering.

the only down fall to them that im seeing is that they attach to the wishbone bolt that goes through rubber, so right now i got a tear in the rubber bushing.

other good bars, like full-race and L-con both to the bolt next to the wishbone its a more solid point with no issures of tearing a bushing in the future. just something you might want to look into.

these are good suggestions, along with the ones suggest by the other menbers above. trying launching at around 4500-5000 and not dumping the clutch, just rid the clutch out a little till the car is rolling the let it out quick(but not as fast as a dump), practice makes perfect, you'll get the hang of it.

All though I don't drag race, They do give the front end more stabiliy and quicker turn in. I also have JimFab motor mounts, so between the both of them I have zero wheel hop. I too have had them since they came out.

I just want to let you guy know that I tried on my friend GSR to remove the power steering just to see if we were able to get some result; It doesnt changed our time, 0 amelioration.

If your talking about the back seats you might as well leave them in...i doubt it'll make a big difference. The type R already came out of the factory lighter then the GSR so not much more you can do besides make more power!!
