Best tire size for JDM wheels??
I just bought JDM ITR 16" wheels and wanted to know what the best tire size for them is- 215-45-16 or 205-45-16?

I run 215-45ZR16 AZENIS on my 16" JDM wheels. I run stock ride height now, but when I lower it, I will run into some slight rubbing problems. This is due to AZENIS being wider than others in the same size.
Thanks,
Victor

215/45/16 is the exact same diameter as 195/55/15...This will keep gearing the same and same speedometer reading
No, its not, 215-45-15 is the same as 195-55-15, but when you change to a 16" rim, you need to compensate for it, the correct rolling diameter to keep it as close to stock as possible would be 215-40-15, but you really dont want to go that wide, your tires will be hanging off the edges, you'll get a little more sidewall flex than you want...I wouldn't go any more than a 205-50-15 or a 205-45-16, it'll also insure that you dont rub if you're lowered.

Actually, diametor on 195/55-15 is23.3 with 892 revs/mi. There is no sutch thing as 215/40-15. And 215/45-16 has a diam of 23.7 with 874 revs per mi. 205/45-16 has diam 23.3 with 893 revs per mile(difference is because of rounding.) The 215 is approx. 0.5 inches wider.

Well if you want to go wide without breaking the bank you might want to try 215/40/16 on the Falken Ziex 512's. They have reinforced sidewall to compensate the sidewall flex. They have good traction and good treadwear if you'll be using it as daily driven. They have a deal @ Tires.com. I don't know if it's a good deal but I guess it's ok.
