car burning oil bad....Dont know why

Post by Gross_00-0088 »

my car goes through about a quart of oil a week. I figured it is prolly my rings. After I got the car I found recipts under the carpet in the trunk and it said all the guides were broken and every exhaust valve was bent so the head was rebuilt. just need to know what you guys think before I do anything..thanks

Burning oil is a rather common problem in our caRs however it does seem that ure case is rather excessive. From what i have heard, it is more often bad valve seals rather than rings that causes the issue. Best bet would be to run a compression check and a leakdown test to determine the root cause.
