Exhaust comparison question

Post by DCR26 »

How does the Mugen twin loop exhaust system compare to the Buddyclub pro spec 3 exhaust and Tanabe Super Medalion systems as far as performance and sound is concerned?

AS of wat I know of it is more havier, quieter than other two yet it could be just slightly less flowing but still very good because of special twin loop system.

from what ive been told, the Mugen twin loop bottles down big time inside that canister. It was made for more of a sound aspect rather than a performance aspect. It does sound super sexy, enough that I would give up a hp or two to have it. 8)

The BC exhaust is  loud, but also sounds sexy.

Tanabe is sexy sounding, I cant speak on the performance though.

If I had to choose between the two, id pick the twin loop.

Twin loop = super sexy sound, a little less hp
BC = straight exhaust, loud, picks up some HP though.
Tanabe = I dont know anything reguarding performance, but I know they sound sexy.

I have the TL and I think it's a pretty decent piece.

Sound is ok, not loud but not to my taste. I would have prefered something a little more "throaty" but it's not raspy either.

I too have heard they are a bit heavier, but so is the Hytech.

Also look into the fujitsubo RM01A.

Very quiet, lightweight, makes good power.

I am hardly debating on either fujitsubo RM01A or T1R, they cost about the same, look about the same, weight about the same, not sure about sound...

I went with the Buddy Club III, but I won't know the real result until my HyTech header comes back from the shop.

Im assuming you mean the Spec III and the Prospec. For one, the Prospec is slightly quieter than the Spec III however thats not saying much considering the Spec III is rather loud to begin with. Also, someone could correct me here if im wrong, but i believe that the Prospec was designed specifically for the American market (length of exhaust and such). The Spec III is a little bit lighter but all in all from what ive read, the two are very similar.

I was trying to make the same decision and i think i found quite a few posts about it on HT. Try searching buddy club or spec or prospec and im sure youll find what ure lookin for.

SMSP 1 piece header, SMSP Race Exhuast which consists of a collector merge, 2' of 2.5" piping, then an 18" resonator and out of the resonator an angled dump t00b. LOL Yes, loud as HELL... Anyone at Expo could tell ya. You knew when I was out on track.

This is a fact. For the clip of Dave I shot, I knew he was approaching about 10 secs before the video starts, coming around the turns and building. :P

Loud, but sounds awesome! 8)
