O2 HITTING MY SHIFTER

I just replaced my cat wit a 2.5 one, now my o2 sensor is rubbing on my shifter. how can i get enough clearance to make it stop. it just get louder as rpms go up.....

Do you have a photo? Sounds like the bung is in the wrong spot?
