CV and Hub, JDM vs Domestic

Post by roadrace »

We are building a '98 teg r (Mark Stewarts' car) for endurance racing and are looking for spare axles. We woud appreciate if somebody could advise

1) Do all US and JDM equivalent R chassis used the same axles and hubs?
2) If not what year(s) did they change US and JDM
3) How many splines are on the hubs/cv's for these.

1. No
2. don't know if they were ever the same
3.Don't know about the splines, but the JDM uses a 36 mm axle, and USDM uses 32mm. Hubs are different, and I think the wheel bearings and knuckles are larger also.

Heard that the CR-V used 36mm hubs and axles as well as the prelude.

The JDM ITR uses 32mm axles from 96-97 then 36mm on 98+ as said before. Some JDM ITRs don't have ABS. If the car is using ABS make sure you get an ABS axle or the ABS will not work.

All 32mm 92-01 B-Series hydro ABS axles are interchangeable, same goes for Non-ABS.
