Intake Noise

Hey guys! Just need some quick help. This has been bugging me ever since I got my caR. My car came with a generic SRI already installed. Since then, I've changed the air filter to a K&N. Everytime I apply a certain amount of pressure to the accelerator, there is an annoying "whistle" coming from the intake. People tell me to get rid of that sound, I need to put on the stock airbox. Is that the only way? I don't notice this sound from other cars, so I thought it was just because my intake is ghetto. If stock is the only solution, what stock parts do I need to buy to install the stock airbox? I'm thinking the airbox, drop-in airfilter, intake hose, and maybe resonator, correct? Comptech Icebox will cure it too. It's normal.

Both of my Mugen's make that noise.

But yeah, the "squeel" is normal.

So are Comptech Icebox and Stock Airbox my only options?

I'm actually looking into a J's Racing Tsuchinoko, but I'm guessing it still suffers from this problem. Stupid WHEEEEEEEEEE sound

The J's will do it as well. I had one installed for a brief period of time.

whistle is normal. but if you got the aem cai the noise that makes over powers thw whislte by far

I actually can hear my comptech icebox once in the while if I try to, but its defenately is MUCH quiter than cai or sri. Takumi if anyone complains again aboyt whistle just say its a supercharger

Haha! My friends aren't stupid! And it annoys the heck outta me! Usually you would think a badass car would go VROOOOM and not VREEEEE

The only solution I came up with to live with it is to gas harder because then the sound goes away

Time to search for stock airbox and intake arm. I really hope I still have the resonator attached or else I'll have to find that too =_= There are so few ITR owners from Vancouver on this forum, yet Vancouver has so many ITRs. Frustrating

All you have to do is get like an N1 exhaust to overpower that sound.

I honestly like that sound because it makes me confirm myself that my intake is actually doing something!

I have a comptech icebox. You will still hear that noise, but slightly when you step on the gas.

Get a big carbon fiber intake. Hear the roar!! rawr!! Thats that sound you want to hear when vtec kicks in!!!
