2000 Phoenix Yellow Integra Type-R LOW Miles [NY]

Post by DC231 Sean »

Located in Albany, New York

For Sale:

2000 Acura Integra Type-R

Phoenix Yellow

Production #518

45,749 miles

History:

I have made the decision to sell my coveted ITR. I purchased my ITR from Rutland Motorcars (Rutland, Vermont) on June 21, 2004 with 38,719 miles on the odometer. When I purchased the car it had a poorly installed / painted body kit, carbon fiber hood, fiberglass “Z3” fenders, Intake, and universal exhaust. After purchase I had intended to return the car to stock and build it for amateur road racing events. Over the years of ownership I progressed towards my road race goal, however college and other commitments slowed my progress and now I am unable to continue.

During the course of ownership the car was involved in an accident which resulted in some necessary body repair. The damage that the car sustained did not affect the uni-body. The car has been completely repaired with all O.E.M. Acura parts. I have the receipts for all parts and repair work. I also have an extensive photo journal documenting the repair process.

Condition:

Here is what I have done to prepare my car for road race events. In preparation for a roll cage and other components I have removed many of the interior parts from the car. The only interior parts left are as follows: main dashboard, door panels, seat belts and two seats. I have also removed the following parts from the car: air conditioning, power steering, windshield washer system (front and rear), SRS system, heat shields, rear wiper, EVAP system, all badges and wheel center caps. The car will come with a majority of the parts that I removed in preparation for race events. All the parts are in bags, totes and/or labeled. I have installed an Apex-i N1 exhaust to replace the “exhaust” that came on the car. The parts that will not come with the car are: stock exhaust, visors (damaged), red “ITR” valve cover (shaved O.E.M. ITR cover and painted black.), O.E.M. ITR lip, CD player, ITR floor mats (replaced with custom all black mats) and windshield weather stripping (left and right side).

The car will need to be totally re-painted (the metal parts that were replaced during body repair have been primed and base coated Phoenix Yellow) and the rear exhaust hangers will need to be fixed. These repairs are necessary because the previous owner decided to paint the body kit when it was installed on the car and fade it into the factory paint. The previous owner also managed to break the two rear exhaust hangers when installing a universal muffler onto the stock exhaust piping.

The car is now in near new body condition (besides paint and exhaust hanger issue) and it is in excellent mechanical condition. Since I purchased the car I have never driven it in snow or rain. I have not raced the car and I have babied it since my first day of ownership. It has been garage kept and has only been driven a few months out of the year. I change my oil using a HAMP filter and Red-Line Motor Oil. The car will come with two helms factory repair manuals (primary and supplemental).

PRICE:

$12,000.00 OR BEST REASONABLE OFFER

I believe this is a fair price when taking into consideration the condition of the car and the Integra Type-R’s market value. Please remember the price reflects the fact that a majority of the parts will come with the car (as mentioned above) and also keep in mind that I am willing to take REASONABLE offers.

Note:

The car will be sold as is and all sales are final. I will not provide any type of warranty. I will not be held responsible for any typographical errors. Buyer will be responsible for any applicable fees related to purchase. The buyer will also be responsible for the registration and inspection of vehicle. Test drivers are not allowed.

Now for the pictures:

There are 123 photos in two separate albums located on http://www.photobucket.com. All pictures are numbered and have a description to go along with them.

I am not too sure. The tag was already removed when I purchased the vehicle. I do know that it is the original transmission from the stamping on the housing.

the stamping on the transmission has nothing to do with it being the original transmission. It's missing the vin tag, and more than likely it's from being stolen.

That is not the case. As far as I know the car has never been stolen, nor are there stolen parts on the car. The stamping on the transmission does correlate with the VIN number. If you do not believe me call an Acura dealer or do a search on the internet.

The number I am referring to is located to the right of the absent VIN tag and below the stamping "B18C5."

that's the serial number for the engine, not the transmission...

That is my fault. I apologize for the confusion and the resulting mistake. I was in a rush to go to work and got my information mixed up. Listen, I do not have any explanation for the missing VIN tag. I purchased the car used from a dealership in Vermont. It was not until months after owning the car that I noticed it was missing. I only noticed it was missing after looking at pictures of other ITR's on the internet. If I did not look at fellow ITR owners pictures I would have never have known there was supposed to be a VIN tag there. I took the car to my local dealer and they assured me that every thing was original (this was months after I purchased the car). I don’t know how they determined this but I do know they were looking up the history of the car in there computer system. Therefore, to the best of my knowledge the transmission is original and not a replacement. I wish I had a more definitive explanation but I don’t. On a side note, I don’t appreciate you insinuating that I am selling stolen property. I understand that you can trust very few people in our society, however I don’t believe it is appropriate to make a general assumption based upon a single picture or the actions of individuals in our society. I am taking this personal because I worked very hard to purchase and pay for this car. I wish I did not have to sell this car at all and when I originally purchased the car I intended to keep it for life. Unfortunately for me life events have given me no other choice but to sell the car. I am more than happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability and I do not have a thing to hide. All I ask is for some mutual respect and for my car to end up with an owner who is as passionate about my car as I am.

Ok that's fine you don't have an explaination. Don't take it personally, it's done to anyone who is selling something that is missing the VIN.

I've had my ITR stolen when I lived in NY, and so I get kind of weary about stuff that's missing vins and has no history...

What I'm getting out of this is that he's asking why no VIN tag, you answered to the best of your knowledge and that's that.
If you care to find out about the trans, to see if it's org or replaced you will need to check two things.
Where the VIN tag should be does the hole appear to be clean of any threads or rivet marks, and the other way to see is on the back side you might find something that looks like this: Image

Any further discussion should be thru PMs please.
