Help with black residue

Post by whitejdm »

I notice that I am getting alot of black residue on the passenger side bumper and spoiler, especially on hard driving. After having to clean it EVERY TIME I washed the car I had my local acura shop look at it. After a series of tests they couldn't find any oil leaks or anything. Have others ran into this problem? Is it a A/F problem? The car seems to pull ok up to about 8000rpm then it seems to struggle slightly till redline.

Black soot is pretty normal on our caRs.
What modifications do you have?

Struggle to hit redlline, hrmmm,, Even my tired old POS still like to clime into the unknown
Start with the ignition system, maybe pull the plugs and go from there.

good luck

I checked compression and it's very good.
I'm switching the spark plugs out right away it looks like they're pretty fouled.
