00/01 forced induction type r few questions

Post by 00civicsiturbo7psi »

ive been looking at forced induction for a type r. i can only find one turbo kit for the type r. its the drag. for superchargers i found the jackson racing. theres got to be more companies to put out kits for the type r. what kind of boost can a stock type r handle before you have to build the internals? i know the bottom half of the motor will have to be built to handle high boost. but i was always told the head of the motor is strong and can handle a good amount of pressure. is this true? also i heard type r cams are better to leave in then any skunk turbo cams. well just taking opionions on this matter. looking to boost a 00/01 type r thanks

All in the tuning and management. Most owners that go turbo with the ITR go with the Drag kit.

Keep your stock cams. Use hondata and all the other necessary precautions. Turbo on an ITR is not a joke.

well how many psi can i stock tyoe r motor handle saftly? if to boost high what compressin should my bottom end be? like 10-15psi do i need any head work done? or just build the bottom end? i wanst going to replace my cams, would i need, vales, retainers, springs, block guard, with the bottom half being buit? anyone can tell me what a good internal setup would be for 10-15psi and what a stock type r motor can handle for psi. thanks :)
