Re: The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.
Exactly... and I PM'd him to inquire about that exact thing. He said any information on other "sites" should also be here. Basically, and I understand from the IB point of view... if your advertising your car you want the views to be on your site, not a link to another site. It also wasnt' from him, but from IB who now owns HT. So the reason he did it (the links at least) were because of what he was told.Bbasso wrote:retracted /deleted
Believe me, I'm not defending him or HT at all... but I did also find out he went to bat for the users about the links in signature lines. He put it to them in a way as it was like wearing a company logo at a car meet. Now links to ther web boards, are a no go which I do understand.
Rob, I understand your frusteration, but I would PM him first and make 100% sure it was him. I mean, if I saw a car FS thread on here, with just a picture of the car with no details at all, I too would lock it. I might go a little farther and PM the person who posted and find out details, but I'd lock it until then. Also, I believe it might have been done because your not all to serious about selling your car. Sure, we'd all sell for eleventy billion dollars... But realistically, do you want to sell your car? I personally don't think you do.
Again, not taking sides or anything of the sort... just looking at this from a 3rd person point of view.

Re: The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.
Over there has gotten utterly ridiculous and decision have made no sense. That fucking thread about one guy wanting to borrow another 97R to scam his state emissions (illegal activities) remained open for days and went to multiple pages. Then that MR Integra wannabe ITR wasn't locked and went for pages. But Matt's (Utilitarian) thread about picking up the M3 and putting in plenty of pics of his minty 97R.....that ish was locked quick. Mind numbing.
Maybe I'm just biased cause Matt is good peeps plus he let me drive his R to town and back Popped that cherry

No worries man, I'm here for you always. Sorry I couldn't get to your call earlier, I was standing in the doorway to my boss' office.Bbasso wrote:ahhh just having a bad day and vented in the wrong direction. sorry.

i could care less either... the more and more days that go by... the less and less I even care anymore there. Cats were funny, bitching people out and making fun of newbs was ok... but I'm over it.
having a good day? Hrm... not me... boss informed that there could be more lay offs and hinted about us finding other jobs before we get cut. Fighting with the GF of which we almost broke up on Friday. Have to go get a new license and go to the court to get a couple of tickets taken care of.
nah... no good day here... and I have to get a turkey, brine it and prep it for the smoker on Friday.
Joe, I mentioned a LOT of things to GK recently about the activity over there. I'm not one for starting here vs. there banter and what not... but for the love of pete... how can you delete links to other sites... yet feel it's ok to sell ad space to some of those sites? I was like WTF... am I really seeing an ad for another Honda/Acura web forum? Give me a break.
Popped the cherry? Joe... had you never driven an R before? Shit, had I known that... you could have driven my PY last year.
<--- Dave, who's in that mood today... FUCK IT!!!

Re: The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.
I'm making a point to visit this site at least once a day. It's on my speed dial now so two buttons and the main forum page is loaded. Most of the stuff going on over there is over my head. I understand that they have been sold and the new owners have business objectives. I hope the forum doesn't change, but change is inevitable. So I hope more OGs and others like myself move over here and this forum gets more active.
Sorry about your day Dave. I hope your work situation gets better. I thought working in the services industry would keep a pretty steady amount of work. I'v noticed in the last 2 months that is not the case. Even our largest clients are feeling the squeeze. Several have already laid off many employees, others are holding out a little longer, one of two have decided to rough out the slow period and keep their employees (which I respect.) I know my hours are down. I'm working the same amout of hours I did when working part time (3 days a week) during the semester. I would hate to be in the auto industry. My close friend and R owner is working a blue collar position making dashs/seats for JCI, which is contracted through nissan. He used to have 100+ employees hired after him. They cut and cut to the point were he only has ~7-10 guys below him. He finds out on July 7th whether or not he has a job.
I just read this article yesterday. Honda was the only Auto company to post positive sales for the month of july(1%). Chrysler was down 30%, Toyota was down 21%, GM down 18%. Wild stuff.

No worries man, stuff happens. Glad to be in IT and not the housing industry (company I work for) because I can go to any industry and get an IT job. It does suck to see our normal staff reduced by almost 40% (of 15,000 original employees) But that's what happens in this industry, it's cyclical. it will eventually go back up.coolhandluke wrote:Sorry about your day Dave. I doubt you'd be able to put the avatar back up. That is, given your sig has been changed a few times...

Shit man, that really sucks on the job and girl and legal fronts all at the same time. Hope shit works out for ya, seems like they've really needed you at the job a shit-ton in the past year or so....hope that means your safe. Yeah, chix type fights suck....been through a few of those with the current gf.....always suck.Dave_B wrote: having a good day? Yep, first time feelin that R type VTEC under the right foot That fresh paved road from the main route to VIR was some awesomeness. Honestly though...I didn't get silly. VTEC only on the straight. Never was speeding other than the typical 5 or so over the limit. Oh yeah, my impression.....ITRs are noice Even in a straight line I could feel how the caR hugged the road firmly...and the seats were so much more comfy. Real nice ride.
Gots to run.

Re: The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.
I could definitely move to North Carolina, but my biggest gripe would be the registration fees. Per car, based on value. Since I will always have 2+ cars for myself, 1 for the wife etc, that gets expensive real quick. I would have to figure out a way to keep the the caR registered here in TN.

Wonder what my taxes would look like? But with the cost on housing and such, I can't imagine it would be to bad in the bigger picture.

Re: The OT place for OGs to BS w/o BS.
I'l figure out where I'm at when the R is running. That timeline depends on how much I have left once the gs-r is sold. It will probably seem lame to you guys but the gs-r has been full insured under my Dad's name for the past 4+ years. It only costs me $60 a year. The downside is we have emissions etc. However, when the car is insured under my name a PO box in a county not so far away would solve the emission issue. (The only reason I want this is for tuning. I will have a SMSP cat, I promise I am super green.)
