Well I was getting something checked out when I was all motor and my car had about 25k miles on it and my teeth on my belt were starting to strip. I was running the Toda B's and gears and they have been know to go through belts like nothing. Yeah there is belts out there that are way stronger then stock and are not cheap. I would upgrade the belt if your running aggressive cams. I think http://www.hondaparts.com carries them. Also try and keep water away from your belt if you clean your motor like that........as far and under normal driven conditions I have heard of them going bad at 50k miles (on non type R's) but if you look at your manual I think its should tell you when you should change it out. I would do it like 10k before the recommended change but tats just me.......

Well your gonna have to change the belt sooner or later. Remember that the more power your motor is maken the more stress it is putting on the engnie parts. As far as a belt going bad. You can look at the teeth and see them cracking. I don't know if you have a cut cover to were your belt is showing. If you don't and plan on cutting it for camgear adjustment I would cut circles instead of cutting off the whole camgear side. I don't know if that makes scence to you. I fucked up and cut the whole top of and the belt is exposed to more water/dirt.....anyway how that helps.....

I dont think thats to big a deal but if you get cams..it'll be a pain in the ass to keep pulling the cover to adjust them. Anyway your welcome....

I assume he means after replacing the timing belt...

Though, he's lucky that his motor runs at all, let alone on two cynlinders...

he can't go past 4k rpm until the engine breaks in.

the engine also got shave down, he's not sure how
much hp he's getting out from shaving the engine.
