What options does a member have for blocking unauthorized login access to their threads? I know the OT section is hidden until after login, just curious what other options are in place for the site.

I would love to have an up to date rebuild thread for everyone to be up to speed. My only fears are theft related. I could care less about be secretive etc.

I work in IT in a MS environment, so in my head I could see how setting up groups of users with said access could be given. Now how that relates to a web community is beyond my current knowledge. I also acknowledge that is alot to ask(and in really too much to ask.) This is all me thinking aloud and expressing my thoughts.

The devils advocate response would point out the information already posted on three sites and the amount of times google and yahoo have already scanned it.

I admin a few forums and it would most likely have to be done at the forum or board level. The different software packages I have experience with do not have the ability to grant thread-level permissions.

Think of it like NTFS only working with folders and disks.

Ryan, I understand your point about your rebuild thread. The only thing I can see with this, is if it's "sorta" hidden, those users who are not comfortable posting will not be able to view as a reference.

I can't tell you how many times I've got to other sites just to read up on things and not want to go through the hassle of creating an account.

I'll see what we can do, and what makes the most sense.
