***PLEASE READ!!!***

Post by Dave_B »

Guys, (and gals I suppose)

You all know of recent changes on "other" sites. Let's please keep the talk specifically about them to a minimum, or at least via PM. While we all tend to agree on how we feel, stating our public opinions on them here doesn't make us look any better.

That being said, with all the newly generated traffic I'm sure you all will come up with ways to make this place better. Please speak up, or PM me or another mod/admin. We will take everything seriously and try to improve on the already awesome platform we have to work with.

Some of the issues at hand that I have recently brought to the Admins/Other mods attention are the quoting issues (if you go to quote and reply to someone, but another person posts in between that time, it asks you to review your quote/post) We are trying to figure out where that option is and make that change so it doesn't ask.

Also it has been brought up that users are unable to edit their previous/older posts. That is yet another thing we are looking into.

So... let's make this place our home. Bring up what you like, don't like and we can all make this place better than it has ever been!!!

How about more PM space? 50 message limit fills up quick and clearing it out is not very Team Lazy :P (Plus I for one have messages I'd rather keep)

I looked into the 50 PMs and I think it's out of Admins/Mods hands to control.
As Dave said list up your concerns and the 'staff' will do our best to resolve or change them.

Good post Dave ;)

Fix the fact that you cant contain more than three quotes in your message. Change it to 50 or so :P

OK got it!
it's now 75 per person and none will be deleted automatically. The user has to delete messages to see new ones if the box is full.

Guys, from a "technical/DataBase" aspect, some things we can and some we cannot get away with.

Quoting more than 3 people at a time, might seem pretty easy (and might actually be) but I'm not a DB guy and would have to ask ROR how that is worked out.

As for the PM's, I liked how it worked over "there" personally where it deleted after a said time. I'll again talk to the Admins and see what can and cannot be done with this style of forum.

All good suggestions and thoughts so far. We, the staff will work diligently to make this the best place to be.

I think all "staff" would agree that this is not only ITRCA's site, but the users site. While can't do everything and fit everyones opinions/views, we can certainly try to make it better and everyones input counts. :D

While I used this site to find my R, I never actually registered until this morning... Things seem fragmented now and I think that somehow increasing the exposure of this site will help the ITR community stay together.
