Best exhaust system? Best headers?
So what exhaust kit would give the most noticable HP gain?
Its time for me to get a new exhaust, the one I have is leaking and is a bit unsightly.
No limit as far as budget.
Thanks for the input...

SMSP or Hy-Tech.
Full custom made by hand.
I like Dave's stuff from SMSP and have spoken to him on a few occasions.

I was interested in the Mugen TL exhaust but haven't gotten any real positive reviews from it. How about the Spoon N1?

You asked for
while the mugen and spoon are good, they don't make the hp.sneakerheathen wrote:So what exhaust kit would give the most noticable HP gain?

Re: Best exhaust system? Best headers?
Well, IMO the best is the SMSP header with SMSP race exhaust... however I would imagine this is for a street car, so I definitely wouldn't suggest the race exhaust. I hear folks have good results with the Hytech Twin Loop exhaust, as it's less restrictive than the Mugen TL. Others have mentioned Fujitsubo. Basically, something not very restrictive, but not completely open either.

Re: Best exhaust system? Best headers?
I'd like to purchase the HyTech exhaust and headers but haven't had much luck finding either. Any links?
Thanks, as always for the info fellas. I love this site.

Be prepared to wait a very LONG time for the exhaust system. I remember a recent member waiting over 6 months.sneakerheathen wrote:I'd like to purchase the HyTech exhaust and headers but haven't had much luck finding either. Any links?

That is very true! I have waited about 5 months for the entire header/exhaust setup.
Timeless. Keeping it real, so you don't have to.

Re: Best exhaust system? Best headers?
How about T1R exhaust? Or how about the T1R 63mm piping with the Mugen TL muffler?
Re: Best exhaust system? Best headers?
I would give Dave a call at smsp....
I have had a couple cat converters from him, and my friend has a custom y pipe on his Legend that Dave made for him.....Also, my friend Chris(RStoR) ITR was used for prototyping the first ITR headers.....beautiful welds/workmanship
Dave is a great guy and does excellent work.... also, you should not have to wait long for one of his products.....

Re: Best exhaust system? Best headers?
My header setup from HYTECH took close to a year as well. When I ordered it John from HYTECH said that the parts for the new batch had just came in and would be done in 6 weeks. Well when that 6 weeks came I hit him up and he kept saying next week, next week, next week, for 8-9 months.
But damn do I regret buying one..........HELL NO. I love my header.

You will only get a CEL from a cat if it does not have the secondary O2 bung.559type_r wrote:i'm think about getting a jdm header 4-1 to a 2.5" cat... the problem is that i want to run a cat without my engine light coming on! any ideal guys?
