I just got in from a night out with a close friend I grew up with. We went to a bar and took care of a pitcher, and then walked over to catch a movie. I walked in with low expectations, but The Day the Earth Stood Still was pretty good. The little boy does an excellent job, Jennifer Connelly IMO always plays her roles very genuinely (I like to brag that I am somehow related to her :mrgreen: ), and Keanu is always Keanu which is a good/bad thing. Stock character IMO.

Today was fuggin awesome! Took the R to werk :) Now she's tucked in the garage and there's a couple inches of snow on the ground, 4 more to come, then ice storm mid morn tomorrow. Back to Lucy. :)

I hope to NEVER see snow, ice or anything other then rain in CLT. The people here drive w/o any knowledge, just get in and go. So adding in a weather condition would be extremely bad :P :lol:

So I guess that means it passed inspection? Good to hear. Any other progress on it or is that it?

No, she failed....the temporary 10-day sticker expires Sunday...legal til then. Tomorrow might be nice again to bring heR to work. Today was a mess, accidents and slide-offs all over (5 inches of snow last night) = Lucy gets the job. :P

I've poured over the Helms manual but there's nothing about troubleshooting a non-communication ECM. I did find the wires I'll have to check and voltage #s. Wish I had a scanner to check afterwards.

309 ran great though last couple days! Put bout 120 miles on. Brakes are unreal :D

if it's just communication with the OBDII port you can always run by an autozone/advance and have them plug into it to see if it's working.

Yeah, thats the issue is that its not communicating. I wish I knew something about it, but I never had to run a scan on it, so I never knew about that issue. The previous owner wasn't that great so if there were issues with it, he wouldn't have told me.

I just based that on what was going on at that relative point in the movie. Unless of course it was just one of the background songs. All of them are usually listed in the credits in order they came.

Well, the mechanic connected the DMV computer to the port to try to read the ECM to see if all the emissions stuffs were working. NY requires an electronic varification everything is operating properly. That's our emissions test, no sniffer. Well, the computer tells him on screen to "Plug into the port first, then start the engine". As soon as he starts the engine, the computer does autodetect the motor is running, then comes up with a "Please wait while we connect to the ECU" It tries for like a minute, then restarts the connection directions process. This happens a few cycles before it gives up and says "Unable to communicate..." If the state can't get the reading, car fails inspection.

The guy then took his own OBDII scanner and tried that....and it couldn't connect either. So it's either the ECM or wiring. Maybe it'll be as simple as a loose ground :shrug: har har, I ain't that lucky :P But the caR doesn't throw any codes (CEL comes on when first turned to ON, then shuts off) and nothing seems to be wrong while driving/idle.
