Need help on spring rates

Im in the market for some nice coilovers, budget is $900 or less shipped. I'm looking at the D2's right now.......i drive my car daily, and with the occasional autoX or highspeed touring. i have no idea what spring rate would work for my application...im looking for some help please.

12/14K PIC, what I have and is a bit stiff on anything other then smooth roads.
8/10K or 10/12K should be plenty for most people.

Look into PIC ;)
