I'm not really tryin' to sway the vote here, but I'd really love to see the WC R's in action no matter if it's held in the West or East. ;) Hear that West Coast? Oh wait, none of them are on here yet.

Got the message loud and clear! :D

As far as instructor goes, I'm good friends with Charleston from ASR. He previously instructed for Redline Time Attack events. So if need be, I could ask him.

Haha, YAY! A Cali peep! I <3 ASR and they're people, too! Great crew! I've already told Tim S. to bring his 97 R to Expo. He couldn't make the long trip last year. :(

Hey Everyone!
so i finally caved in and signed up!

I spoke with cheezthis earlier and let him know that i'm in and ready to help out in anyway possible. i was born and raised about 25 minutes from willow springs and know the area better than anyone.

Both isaac (yellowkahuna) and I help to organize the annual west coast ITR meet and between us can round up most of socal's finest.

if anyone has any questions regarding the track or surrounding areas let me know!

I know I'm curious to know how many of the Cali R's actually track their cars...? I'm not saying that with a snide tone, but I just don't know, because I've never tracked there and there isn't big attendance from CA at Expo, haha.

Wes,

If you need a point of contact to organize the event at Willow Springs, I could suggest Christopher Willard, the founder of the open track day organization Redline Track Events and Co-Founder of the Redline Time Attack Racing Series.

Chris now host another HPDE track event of his own: http://www.extremespeedtrackevents.com/
His contact number is in there somewhere.

Just trying to lend a hand!

Question: Why Willow Springs? Why not back to Button Willow, where ITR EXPO started?

Its a good question, and I assume it has to do with availability, and cost. Buttonwillow would be the better Expo track, better location too in regards to getting there and hotel locations. Plus it would just be us, at WS I'll bet they'll rent out the Streets course to someone else while we're there.

Since one of our primary goals is to partner with HPD, the distance from each track to Santa Clarita is a big consideration.

Oh yeah I'm silly I forgot about that. The HPD partnership is huge factor.

from santa clarita (HPD), to buttonwillow is about 40 miles further that going to willow springs.

when comparing the tracks i'd go the extra 40 miles. no question..

I'm just imagining an area where people could actually camp out with tents for those who plans on not spending on a hotel room. :?

There is no grass area at Willow Springs International Raceway!
