Yeah, it's been on and off monsoons here. I could hear it pounding the roof just a few mins ago, and we have an attic to buffer the noise I can't remember the last time we had such downpours

Yeah, Lake Erie has the same effect on us. Unfortunately our infamous snowstorms occur when an artic blast from Canadia sweeps across the warm and open lake.
Where we hunt down in Westfield, NY. We have a million dollar view (for free ) of Lake Erie, we're right on the long upslope in the topography coming up from the lake. It keeps our neck of the woods (literially) 10 degrees warmer than say 10 miles inland.

On a side note, car is running great and the faded LR reflector is actually covered under a Honda TSB. So I'll be getting that replaced for free. The more I drive the bitch, the more I like it.
