Yeah, people complain about outage during storms... but IMO... the storms that actually block the signal are usually storms you shouldn't have the TV on for anyway. And if the dish is setup right, simple clouds and airplanes will never block your signal.
Well we were told that we had to get HD service to get channels. Then when they came out they said that that our dish was no good. Then we he put the new dish on he said "oh, those trees over there will not allow you to get standard definition channels, you will ONLY get the HD channels." Then he didn't have everything he needed. Everytime we talked to them the story changed. It was frustrating, and really put a bad taste in our mouth.
Dave hit it on the head. Unfortunately the turn-over on residential techs is so great you're typically hard pressed to get a real experienced one to show up at your house. That's why it's very important to do your homework on what to expect etc.
In the residential market, there aren't really huge noticeable difference between dish providers. I suggest people go with whatever programming packages work best for them. It's only when you get into a commercial market where there is a clear winner on who to go with.

Cable modem install was halted due to low signal on the line. They found the problem down the street and hope to have it fixed in a few weeks. WTF!?!? A few weeks?!?!?! Why in the hell am I going back to this company?!?!

Look at how long it took Charter to bury the cable in my back yards.... MONTHS!!!
Yup, I wonder the same... why ARE you going to them? Speed, certainly not reliability...

The phones today are like mini computers. It's overclocked from 500 Mhz to 710 and stable (not glitchy, rebooting) and rooting means I have root level access (it's linux, think like full domain admin rights in Windows environment) the ROM means I'm not running the stock "operating sy
stem" that Sprint has, but a custom one and themed means I have further changed that ROM to include my own icons, and other customizations such as a clear lock screen.
So I should just hand my phone over to you to customize it for me.

They have NES, SNES and other Romulators out.
I have also seen Ipad's with Android 2.1 OS on them... I'm tempted by the hardware (read, NOT APPLE) vs the other Android based tablets out there.
Cisco has one coming out with a Native Android OS, but that's not until 2011. Decisions... decisions.

How about an SNES emulator for the iPad (jailbroken) that you use your Wii-remotes with.

I've got this on my iPad.

So from those of you with experience with both: iPhone 3GS or Blackberry Curve/Tour. I'm also consider buying my friend's 3GS from him, selling both mine and his and buying an iPhone 4. I figure since Apple is having a news conference tomorrow, by the time I can actually buy one, they'll have this antenna issue fixed.

not an issue if you either hold it right or simply have a case on it. (can't understand why anyone would ever own one of these phones without a case anyway; droid or iPhone)

I've only had a case on my two iPhones for about 2 months total. I broke my case for the 3GS about 3 months ago and have not replaced it. I've never had a problem in 2.5 years of ownership. And I hold my phone the way you 'aren't' suppose to. Oops.

I've got an expensive Otter Box case, well worth it, and was EXTREMELY careful for the first 2 days when I had no case (plastics and such still on, nothing else in that pocket)
I still LOL at the antenna thing however.

I never carry anything in my left pocket except my phone. Only time my phone isn't in that pocket is if I'm wearing my tight jeans. Then it goes in a back pocket because I can't get it out of the front pockets without standing up.

I note a serious design flaw (not with the phone)

I can't have cases because wednesday thinks it's a chew toy, if the case is off then she won't bother with it.
I think tomorrow I'll commit to a gopro, earlier this week I picked up a wind screen for my H4n, I'm thinking it should eliminate all of the bad audio caused by the wind.

While we're at mid O I want to get every last gopro and stick them on one car and do a multi-cam setup, that's be badass
