You go backpacking up in the mountains? Pics? Sounds like fun, I really wish we had something like that here.

I just did this weekend. Hadn't gone before. Here are some pics from trip yesterday. Camera died after these few crappy pics. Was a great trip. I'm extremely sore and we actually cut it short as it got way colder than what we had with us for sleeping and we couldn't keep a fire going or cook anything so we walked 6 miles down the mountain in pitch blackness. Lots of fun :)

I still haven't figured out how high up we were, but it was pretty darn high.

Kate trying to start the fire. Took us about an hour or longer. Altitude makes everything nearly impossible.

The best tip to start a fire: Use the lint from a clothes drier. Place it at the bottom of all small and med twigs and let it rip!
Fire will light and catch easy.

Nice pics! Did you bring a park bench and fire pit with you too?

Dawn, yooos comin. Can't you order a birth certificate over the phone? You can't be the first Canadiaese person to move inter-Provence and need to get one. There's still time. 8)

Erik, looks like a good time man. Although only times I've gone mountain "backpacking" it was with a long-gun. Birch bark also makes a great fire starter, burns wet too.

I'm fucking trying!!!

Here's the deal.... I was born in Ontario and my family moved back to Nova Scotia a few weeks later. I was unfortunate enough to be born on vacation. So because I was born in Ontario, I got an Ontario birth certificate. To make things even harder, I now live in Alberta.
btw, there's no such thing as doing it over the phone.
The thing that's holding me up is the part of the form where I need to put my address at the time of my birth.
Ugh. Does that make any sense? I'm confusing myself! lol
I'm going to keep trying to come, I'm not giving up or anything, I just wanted to keep you guys up to date.

Contact your local Govt. branch. Ask them what you need to do. I'm sure someone has to be helpful up there... even if they are canadiash.

haha, no, there was a small campground up where we were. Its a heavily traveled backpacking trail.

She and I both know how to start and maintain fires very well, but the altitude was making it extremely hard. We couldn't even get water to boil with a liquid fuel stove.
