I LOVE IT THERE!!!!
It's hella awesome!!!
It's just the manual labour part that's kicking the effin snot out of me.
I'll get stronger as I go, so that's hella cool.
Guess what was there when I first came in this morning?
AN ITR!!!
lol
Seriously! I didn't catch the year, but she had the gorgeous red interior, and despite the bit of road dirt that you can't escape this time of year, the interior was awesome.
I think the guy who owns her thinks I'm insane on account of my 'exuberance' about the car. lol
It made my day to see her there though.
The owner has been here, but not recently. I hope he comes around more often now.
Or maybe I scared him away for ever. lol. Only time will tell.
I got to rip around in some hella badass cars though. It was quite fun.
I'm not nearly as sore as I was yesterday, and I'm having a wicked awesome time at the shop.
I got to buy work pants and itty-bitty girl work gloves today, so that was cool.
Well, I guess that's all I have to report for now.
Now I'm going to have a beer or 12.
Later guys!

Glad you had a good day at work Dawn! Its wierd that you're going to work and stuff. Normally you just sleep all day and roll around the floor nekked. Its kind of lonely up here in the tree without you being home.

well if its boosting inconsistantly it could knock itself out of cruise also.

True true, the knocking out during hard lefts sounds funny though. Definitely need to work out the turbo problems first, could fix the CC problems.

No driving for me. I'm going to the ALMS 12 hours of Sebring.
So, mr fancy pants camera guy. How do I catch the cars in motion. Meaning back ground blurred and car in focus/rims in motion.
I know I have to pan the car, shutter probably close to 80-100 of a sec. Most likely it will be FL sunny and bright outside. Any other thoughts into getting those shots?

I'd pick a shutter speed that you feel as the right amount of blur to it. So experiment to figure out what is working for the speed of the cars going by at the spot you're at. Just fire a few to figure out what you want and to get your bearings. Then I'd adjust the aperture to obtain the correct exposure. This means shutter priority mode.
So you pick your shutter speed and let the camera adjust the aperture. Another big advantage is prefocusing. You can do this manually or in autofocus mode. Manual tends to work better. Decide ahead of time where you are going to click in the path of your pan and focus the camera there. You can do this by manually setting the focus or pressing the shutter button part way to focus and hold that focus while you pan. Then just click when the car reaches that point that already determined.
Its best to be standing when you're panning. lock your arms, camera, head, and torso so that they move as one and rotate with your hips. It just takes a little practice, but its pretty easy to get the hang of. Thats just what works best for me. Hope it helps a little bit.
This guy also has a really good write up on panning.

Have fun dude and you'd better post lots of pics!
