Can someone clarify the seat & harness rules.
We are able to keep our OEM seat belts as long as we use factory seats, correct?
Does this include ITR Recaros?
Would this then also include REPLICA Recaros?
Thanks

stock belts are good on stock type, reclineable seats. Not so on fixed back seats.

Erik is right, but if you have a rollbar or cage, then no. IIRC, it is an all or none rule with equal systems for both the driver and the pass (instructor).

It may be best for you to inform us on your current or planned setup. You may be 100% ready to go if you are on all factory SRS components. As Erik and John mentioned, if you have fixed back seats or a rollbar, then changes will need to be made.

So when can GUEST register & pay for the event? I have a few in my party that want to sign up so we can figure out plans and cost for the trip.

My setup is all stock. My brother however has REPLICA ITR Recaros, which are fully reclinable. Just wanted to clarify it, if anything he also has a set of OEM GSR seats to put in.

Yeah you will be fine. Last year i used a recaro for drivers side and passenger seat usdm with stock seat belts.

All stock is completely fine. I am running all stock SRS components in my car. I would recommend to your brother using the stock seats. Replica seats generally do not have adequate crash tests on them.

So since my car is for sale, I want to know incase it sells and I pick up the next car, do convertibles need to have a rollbar? I know at VIR a rollbar was a must on S2000s, but I could have sworn last year there was an S2000 out there with no aftermarket rollbar. I'd love to be able to track whatever car I have and not be wasting a spot in Intermediate, but I would like to know in advance what the rules are so that I can make sure if I know I won't have my ITR, that I can sell my spot to someone who can use it.

I'm sure you won't have a problem selling off your spot

S2000, Meotter, MR-S. I'm trying to convince my co-worker to sell me his blown motor MR-S so I can swap a B-series into it. He's not going for my low balls.
I know I won't have trouble selling the spot, but I'd rather not get the car and get the answer then. I'd rather know in advance so that I can sell the spot as soon as I know. If I can track a convertible without a rollbar, I'll just keep the spot and track whatever I've got.

not nitpicking your financial situation, but how is anything other than a miata a moneysaver with selling the R? I would imagine that swap is not exactly cheap or easy (though I've never looked into it).

I'm dropping down to one car. I guess I could keep the R, but I'd rather not have that as my only car. Its perfectly safe where its at right now, but I'd rather not be parking it on college campuses and at my home everyday again. S2ks can be had for less than my ITR, and reduce my insurance, so its definitely a savings and still a fun car. The swapped MR-S would be if I bought my friend's blown one. Otherwise it'd say stock motor until the motor blew.

But we've gotten off course. Do you guys know the answer to my question? I remember in previous years there was always a writeup for Expo that answered this question, but I don't see that this year.

It generally isn't a one size fits all answer for all tracks. Most tracks have parameters set by their insurance providers. I think you are getting ahead of yourself personally. When you sell both your cars and own a convertible I would start worrying about that situation.

No problem...it will be more prominent after we update it. We're overdue on that.
The updates needed are:
- non-driver registration (biggest)
- updated rules
- updated sponsor list
- updated FAQ page
I'll be busy with most of it, and Dave will be busy with the important part
