took her out for a little spin for the first time tonight. I'm in love with my teggy again..so smooth and powerful..now a little break-in before all hell breaks loose

ok, new build has about 200 miles on it, runs great!!

I also have power steering and a/c again...power and luxury all rolled up in a nice package

So what kind of power do you now have?

WOW, glad she turned out the way she did. Any dyno numbers coming soon?

I haven't gotten the car tuned yet. I'm going to drive it for a while to break it in. The car runs great on the existing tune, so I'm not worried about driving it.

I'm going to get some larger injectors and turn the boost up by end of summer hopefully.

The goal is around 400whp.

my biggest concern was to have AC again ..froze my ass off on the way home yesterday after getting it working again..

hehe..I'm in the same boat, I could lose a few ounces myself...

but that would mean that I'd have to stop drinking Sapporos...not happening..

I don't know what the hell I was thinking when I pulled my AC and PS systems out a few years ago..the car is such a pleasant thing to drive now with those creature comforts...

Jan, do you really prefer driving the car without the PS? When I took mine off the car, I thought it actually felt better. Sure, in tight spaces it's a PITA but other than that, I really like the road feel.

I love having mine off. I daily drive without it and its never too much to deal with at all.

My PS belt is off too... But I'd like to put it back on if I start using the car more on the streets. But for track, I like the belt off.

dude, in the nati there is no traffic. i was up your way last weekend and was sitting in traffic on the BQE for EVER. it was so friggin hot out. i cant imagine dealing with that traffic alll the time!

no I don't...that's why I put it back on.. I had it off for 4 years...big mistake!

The car drives way better with PS.

update:

1000 miles just turned, runs great (closed loop ftw), still haven't found a tuner I trust. I'm leaning towards Payn Tech (under new ownership), however I'm waiting for him to get a few turbo hondas under his belt before entrusting him with mine

No major issues, had a little scare at about 500 miles, one day she started puffing smoke out of the tailpipe (my worst fear), so I changed the oil - I figured the break-in oil was probably pretty contaminated by that point. I also changed my open breather tank setup to a PCV setup, with the valve cover vented to the turbo intake tube (via a slashcut tube...see bernoulli effect..)...the smoking issues subsided immediately...phew..

On a side note, I recently traded my stock hood for a scratched up CF hood, so I proceeded to clean it up and re-clear coat it..turned out pretty decent, I'll post a write up on that elsewhere..

the supra guys are doin some pretty awesome stuff with catch cans now. they are running a line to the exhaust and putting it on there. can you say 100% free vaccum pump?

yeah, I've heard similar efforts in the honda camp using the old ford style air pump check valves and a slash cut tube, but from what I've read vacuum is only created part of the time depending on exhaust flow and pressure...I don't know...I see that solution for a full out race car, but on the street I don't want to burn oil inside my exhaust pipe..I hate smoke..

and boost is still at 10 Psig, no changes until I find a competent tuner..

Well, I never did find a competent tuner, so I've decided to tune my own...

I bought a Hondata S300 and some 750cc injectors. Plugged the hardware in, loaded in my S200B bin file only modifying the injector size and she fired right up. I recently bought an LM1 wideband..which is a fantastic tool. On my old map it was a little lean at idle, so I fattened her up a bit and she runs fine. I'm looking forward to really tuning this thing in the spring..so while she's in hibernation over the winter, the updates will be a bit slow..
