Rob, your hard drive is dieing/dead.

But just to make sure its not user error, make sure you do not have any floppy disks or CDs in the drive.

Yup, neo's right.
You pro'lly gotta get a new hard drive and move everything over from the old one before it takes a dump. If old hard drive is dead, you might as well look at a new compy. Looks like the one you got is purdy obsolete. :|
Here's a helluva deal. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6883107507
And a nuther. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6883108122

Or meybe one 0' you I.T. foos here < cough Erik, cough cough Midget, > has some surplus hardwarez laying around.

Need the data? Just aquired a new app that let me retrieve all the data I want, deleted or not and without the file allocation table. Quite nice indeed!!!!

funny you bring this up...
last night I pullled the two HDs out of the old tower and wondered how the F can I get all the stuff out.
Other then shipping them to you, not a bad idea if you are offering but I'd like to do this myself.
Is there a way to connect the internal HDs to my laptop then transfer the info to dvd?

Yup. And not very difficult if you have XP on lappy.

lappy will have Vista, does that matter?
So what will I need to connect the HD to the laptop, can I get it at radioshack?

I don't do Vista, but probably easy like XP. I think you need the OS install disk, but it's self-prompting. As to hooking up, ask Erok or ROTY for help. I do most 0' me chit on desktop PCs.

Very easy, so easy you'll kick yourself...

You just want to copy the data off the HD's? Go get yourself a HD case with a USB connection...

Plug in, connect USB and there you have it. Basically the same thing as an external drive.

As for the other solution, you'd have to send the drives to me. I don't have the license information for this software. As far as you would get would be to show you it found data, but no way to recover it.

However, I could take that data and burn to DVD if you'd like. No way I'm burning 20-50 CD's of data, that's a headache. Best option would be an external drive to transfer.

Either way, Roberto, joo got my number if you need anything. :D

External Hard Drive bay... though I'm not sure Radio Shack would have it.

IMO... the Iphone is a POS!!! Really... it is. If your looking for that "kind" of phone (touch screen, blah blah) then wait and see what's coming out in the coming months. Verizon just released one and there are several others coming. AND... the best part is your not stuck with SHITTY AT&T service...

As for the Treo's... why the P model? If anything, I would just get a Treo W model.

p model becaus the only 750 for vzw i belive is the 750 p and it doesnt have the antenna sticking out the top(the iconic treo symbol lol) i dont know much about the advantages of the 750p(or "updates") vs a 700p or 700w, but i would like to get rid of that big antenna hump on the top, honestly im suprised i havent broken it off yet from dropping it

LOL i dont know, i just assumed it was like the end all of end all, the digital voicemail or whateevr you call it sounds pretty cool, but its probably too bling tastic for me, after all i drive a honda, not a escalade. function>form, as long as the function one looks nice
