Aw man! It was fuggin AWESOME!! I got 4 runs in (1 was a rerun due to timing equip issues). Then I had to get to work My instructors on each run were really shocked that this was my first autox event. So of course I gave credit to Expo and VIR My only trouble spots were the two 180 turnarounds. I loved the slaloms!! So much fun, Lucy did great through them But yeah, I'm just sad it was the last event of the year locally. There is another event in the next region over in 2 weeks.....70 miles away....thinking bout it Just a few pics, Dad took some video too, gonna check that out tomorrow.
Bout to head out....98R in background, and a red Elise. Those guys were great drivers! I was in STS only because of the larger than stock wheels. BTW, 44psi up front and 35 in the rear suxors. Understeer FTL. Dropped the front to 41 for the 3rd run and was a little better.
One work duty as announcer of times as cars finished
Pops really enjoyed just checking things out and watching.
Met the PY owner again. He and his pops were swapping turns in their R. His pops rode with me as an instructor for a run. Real cool guy. He was a national champion in his class a few years back. I also got a ride-along in a nicely set up WRX. Man that car could move and grip!
Only bad thing that happened was a Firebird spun and hit a curb, breaking the rear axle. Driver was fine. A while later, an orange Elise spun at the same spot, missed the curb, went up on the grass backwards and stopped 2 feet short of a massive tree. Yeah, the crowd let out a collective "Oh shit!"
Great times, only wish I coulda stayed for the full event. Next year
