Maybe things are different now but when checking on shipping our cars for Expo 7, none of the shipping companies would guarantee delivery by a certain date. Too much risk in my opinion.

I would have to stick with the private hauler options.

I will whore myself out to get over there at a reasonable cost.

I also vote for an East Coast Expo. I moved from Seattle a couple of months ago to the East Coast in hopes that Expo 11 would be on this coast. I will cry if it is out West seriously.

Where on the east coast, keep in mind many of us do events throughout the year so you can still have a blast even if expo isn't in reach for you this year.

Found out there is a very slim chance that I could make this...
Woman is going to NM this summer and NM isn't all that far from CA.

Negative on the shipping of a car... at least for doing both ways. An uncovered carrier across the country is $1k each way. I used MD to NV as an example trip. I may ship the car one way, fly out, and drive back or perhaps share the car maybe. We shall see..

No updates right now. When trying to get an assortment of available dates, the first refusals have to finish.
Are there any other suggestions besides Button Willow and Mid-Ohio? Just curious if there's a track that many also want to go. We always like to have back-up plans. Last year, Autobahn Full was the plan b as an example. If history has taught us anything (Expo 4 comes to mind), we have to entertain at least, possibly 3 fronts.
Thanks, and no, that doesn't mean we're not going west. No panic, just covering all bases.

Survey event at MAM
Split the map down the middle and collectively tally up all miles driven from the west against all miles from the east and put the truth in numbers.
When you ask for suggestions what is the scope of requirements? What about Blackhawk or Putnam?

I vote MAM its in the middle. I'll be there 4 times this summer anyways. Fast Fridays FTW!!

Track needs to reasonably sized and fun for people to actually make the trek.
Blackhawk Farms will never be on my radar as long as I'm involved. I've been there a couple times (just under 2 hrs from here). It's small, narrow, and the paddock is enclosed by the track.
Putnam isn't bad but expensive. We talked to them briefly last year, but we got Autobahn Full for the same price for the most part.
I'm ok with the MAM idea, but I'm sure many are not. Even though it's super flat, I enjoy that track for some reason. However, that track is in Wes's backyard, so I'd let him make a decision on that. I think he'd rather go somewhere else, ha.

How's about Laguna Seca??? I met the owners at an IRL event a few years ago and I know they have reduced pricing if cars are below a certain dB limit.... Thoughts?

I'm sure that would slightly fall out of the budget, might as well run Daytona lol.
Okay now that the original suggestions got shot down let me work my way east.
CMP - inexpensive, fun, nice classrooms
NCCAR - even cheaper, I believe I heard 8k for two days with workers. Absolutely insane facilities, plenty of runoff. Although close to the coast it is an easy drive for any NE guys.
Summit? Limerock? Beaver again?
I'm running out of suggestions, Mid Ohio would be epic.

I'll just throw this out so its completely off the table: don't consider the Summit Point Shenandoah Circuit. If you can even get local instructors, chances are half of them will be barfing their lungs out halfway through day 1. It is not a shotgun-seat friendly track. I love driving on it, but I absolutely will not instruct on it ever again (not that I can make it next year...*cough*).
Laguna Seca's dB limit is absurdly low. There is no way an event full of fart-canned Hondas will work with that.

I'd do Summit, heh. That'd be hella cheap for me
