Home again....I have a trunk full of tools, spare parts, and more junk from my Dad's place. I got a nice speeding ticket Friday night so its going to end up being an expensive weekend. Oh well...at least I have my creeper.

Thanks dude. We'l see what happens. Since it's in a random county and out of state I hope I can get traffic court. THP said they offer it online now. I won't know for a couple of weeks. THP office said to wait 2-3 weeks before calling in.

Considering he keeps saying THP, or Tennessee Highway Patrol, I'm guessing not in SC...

:)

damn dude, I didn't go down the line items. Your break makes mine look like childs play. I'm starting to get normal life functions back not even 5 weeks post op. PT started today.

OMFG today rocks. I basically somehow ended up in a sweet as email thread battle with a high level corporate employee at TWC. Ahhh I wish I could make it public. Bashing them to no end. It's great.

On a back road forty minutes from home. I always take a back route in to save ~20 minutes and avoid the boring drive of I-840. I passed a car doing the speed (55) and he tagged me right after the pass. 71/55. I'm hoping I can get traffic school online. We'l see.

It starts with all of the frivolous lawsuits and through-the-roof malpractice insurance.

Let's not forget the insurance companies, mine will charge the company $30 for a prescription that I can fill for $10 RETAIL!

A lot of people never make that connection because they've never seen how bad doctors get fucked over. Which is why I didn't even bother to ask your dad any general questions about my condition when we were there, I know they walk on eggshells of crazy people always out to sue them.

he's one of not many docs that stuck with it in WV. about 5 years ago when things got really really bad in that state mal practice premiums had more than tripled and many doctors were losing money rather than making it nearly 30-40% of all surgeons in the state left the state because they couldn't afford not to. All because of people fucking themselves and blaming it on the surgeon/hospital.

In WV at least it's most commonly someone who has some surgery and are over 250-500lbs and smoke and eat utter shit while laying on a couch during their entire recovery with no PT or anything and they wonder why they're still broken/sick/dying. Then they sue, since it clearly can't be anything they did. bullshit.

I got popped for one of those in Cabarrus County. Same deal, passing legally on a two-lane. Trooper said "sir, do you know how fast you were going?" No, sir."Me neither, but you were moving."

70 in a 55. Lawyered up and paid my money.

Re: malpractice. When Bef was still in a clinic, she had to carry malpractice insurance. She's an audiologist. She played with computers and knobs. Yeah.

I have never gone the lawyer route.

For me it was the easy button. Cabarrus is 2+ hours away - easier to pay a lawyer than to take time off and whatnot. My ticket got reduced to improper equipment, meaning fine only. No record.

I am jealous, but glad you're recovering quickly.

I started PT yesterday also, my therapist did say my recovery was above average when compared to others with equivalent injury, (apparently compared to the fat lazy sue-happy WVians) so that's good... but $30 copays for PT = grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............

Glad to hear it's going well, the Therapist has a student that is interning for the summer that isn't exactly sore on the eyes so I don't mind going two times a week.

To be honest I was stoked to get $18 copays, all of my doctor visits have been 100% out of pocket up front. That giant boot was $220, fml.

I can live with paying the fine. I'm more concerned about points and insurance rates rising. I haven't had a speeding ticket in six years and I really don't want to risk anything.

The kicker being the ticket is in BFE Tennessee. Good to know though.
