That dude is having a bad day. He got yelled at by the manager for messing up the tire. Yelled at again for taking so long to remount it. The manager finally gives me the car key, apologizing the whole time.
Me - "Where's the wheel lock, in the glove box?"
Him - "Daaaaammmmnnn."
Me -
Him - "I swear it's his ass this time."
Looks like there will be an opening at the Discount Tire on Maynard later today

Do any of you guys know anything about home audio stuff? I have a extremely gay cubby hole for the TV above the fireplace so the TV sort of has to go there by default. Either way I have zero room for any head units with the cable box and PS3.
The way everything is laid out I have nowhere to put a subwoofer without looking scummy. Currently I'm thinking about getting the Bose Cinemate setup since it sounds kickass enough in real life and it doesn't take up much real estate, the only thing is the subwoofer would have to be behind the TV. I've read before that this can mess up a TV picture? I'm sure it's not a huge issue but I wanted to see before dropping $400 on speakers.
I found a picture that sort of shows the layout and how there's no room to work with. Open to ideas.

the bose cinemate still sounds great (not sure if that's relative to the price). I don't need anything nutso, but the TV speakers are not only worthless but they're now shot. When my shitty nephew was over I had to crank everything full blast just to hear over his yelling, all it took was one loud Cialis commercial to give the finishing blow.

Steve, if you have time to take the short trip to Smithfield you should go see my uncle. For the money youd spend on Bose equipment you can have better equipment for the same price. He's got several different set-ups in the theatre room & showroom to listen/compare.
With that said and having seen the layout of your room first hand. A all-in-one box may just be the best way to go considering you don't have room for a Receiver and sorts.

You have an uncle in teh speaker biz?
I actually found this unit refurbed off the bose site for $350. I'm sure there are much better items for the money, just options are really limited.

Yeah maing. I worked there for 5 years doing home theatre & satellite installations. Pretty basic website.
http://www.andrewsaudiovideo.com/ He can carry/sell alot of stellar brands.
I helped build the theatre room in the shop.

Last time there, I had to man the impact wrench at Discount Tire and teach the mech the "star pattern" for tightening lugnuts. They had never even heard of a sequence for tightening lugnuts.

Lately while looking for houses, I've noticed most new open floor layouts really screw you in tv/speaker/cable box/dvd/everything else placement! What you have screws you on tv size aswell.... I guess architects don't watch tv or actually use there family/informal living room. I'll be asking the same question when we finally land a house!

I didn't even think about it to be honest as I hadn't made a major TV purchase yet. Actually there are a lot of things I didn't think about when buying this place. Definitely wish I didn't rush into anything, either way best of luck finding somewhere for the both of you, that's some pretty exciting shit

Funny, as home theater speaker placement was the first thing I noticed when I walked into that house yesterday. Or, the lack of pre-run wires and the living room having a vaulted ceiling.

I think the only good thing about the first house is realizing what you want and don't want in the second! By the this next house I should be able to build the perfect third house.:p

I started looking again after you passed through. I heard about a place for sale and checked it out Tuesday night. I liked enough to pursue talking banks, etc, so that is where I'm at now. I'm nervous/excited so we'l see what happens next.
