As for the book on s/c.. I am writting a guide and planned to have posted it months ago.. but it just keeps growing and I keeprevising. It is now up to 42 pages, single spaced 10pt font, in OpenOffice ( I dont use microsoft applications).

I am not saying they arent. I am just saying I cant personally understand the burden of boobs unless I were to have them myself, which would take a large weight gain.

Thanks.. I will when I feel it is complete. I keep getting questions that cover areas I have not written much about, so I keep expanding on it.

I went through that at the beginning of the year. DSLR market is just like Apple with the stupid f-ing ipod - the base price is always the same, you just get "more" for the money.

Keep an eye on accessphoto.com's classifieds. There's a D70 with lens for fow fitty.

Oh, I ended up with a Canon p&s, couldn't find a good used DSLR deal, and Mrs. Splat wouldn't let me get a new one

check out this site and you can find out about what cameras are good for what you want pretty easily. If you really want one to learn on, I'd suggest going for a Nikon D50 (Jim's), Nikon D70(or D70s), Canon Digital Rebel or Digital Rebel XT. Their prices are about $550, $900, $600, and $650 respectively.

Theres always a big conflict between Canon people and Nikon people, but it really just comes down to what layout you like better and the price of lenses. I'm a Canon guy, but have used many Nikons and like them very well. Canon has the best history and IMO the best hardware (bodies and lenses are both absolutely top notch), both function and quality wise. Nikons however seem to reproduce reds and greens a bit more vividly, which is a big plus.
