Dewd, I don't know what the problem is, but I routinely get 28mpg on the highway in my CL-S. Unless your 17mpg is strictly downtown driving, it just don't make sense.
I got 31mpg on the way to SC and back, but I don't do any highway driving at home.

Just buy and drive till ~125k miles then unload it (that is when stuff will start to get expensive and drips will start) in a few years for ~$12k. AKA: profit?
The fact that is a rare bird = worth more when it is time to sell it.
The only issue I see is which one of you would drive it.
I would love to have that beast and would sell the Pilot to get it... but 93 octane = $$$ / BMW = $$$
Me = Honda fanny boie

Bef isn't going to want a manual, even though I'd be driving it 90% or more of the time. But it would be a pretty sweet (and slightly cheaper) alternative to the other hauler we're considering (XC70).
Smart thing would be to find a CPO V50, but I dun think they get the mileage that Bef's S40 get (31 mixed). If they only get mid-20's, might as well get the bigger AWD sled. Benz wagons are $$$$, and sort of ugly. I should just buy a Tahoe and be done with it

I'm going to stay downtown on the river. The jobsite is a nearby army base.

Saw a 98 R on a flatbed this morning, police were on scene tho so I hope it was legit. I called the PD and they said they towed a black car from that location this AM so I'm a little

It was in the parking lot of a dive bar that just lost its license for 10 days due to illegal strippers
Its dumping snow here today so I'm hoping it was just an accident.

Might be a dump spot to see if anyone tracks it(Lojack/GPS). Did the '98 look "light" in the front end?

But send the linx to Jack and let him talk you out of it.

Maintenance chitl? CPO sez it's covered for 6yr/100k mi. Don't know if that includes the new-car free maintenance stuff or not though.
My problem would be selling it in a couple of years. Since I'm one of three people who would possibly consider a manual wagon, I'd have to track down one of the other two and make them a deal.
you call me when you want to sell it, I would drive the hell out of that thing.....
