Comp is totally right. Brakes are 100% tire limited. Definitely something to factor in when thinking about what set-up to run.

FWIW, I run RA1's on track and Kumho SPT's on the street.

yeah tires definitely do play the biggest role. No matter what your brakes can do if your tires can't you're not stopping.

You say that but you don't mention what tires you are using in your setup.

Nope. All they are are lighter, give better pad wear, and most importantly better pedal modulation over the stock brakes. and oh....trumping all of those combined of course is the look of them.

Guess I should add. Sp00m klappers with Cobalt XR2s in front and new GTS in rear. autozone blanks, SS lines, and ATe SuperbRue.

Yes Luke, which is why I use XR2's. This year first session or 2 will be on Hankook RS2's.

ATE "blue" fluid for all autos...

ITR: (stock rotor and caliper)
Front - VR's (also used blues/porterfield/xp/etc.)
Rear - OEM

Civic: (stock front rotor and caliper / GSR rear rotor and caliper)
Front - Panther+ (soon I will be able to rock a "vintage set" of VR's)
Rear - OEM

My DD uses whatever Cobalt sells, Legend rotors.

My Current Brake Setup:

Hawk HPS Pads
Stoptech Sportstop Slotted Rotors
ATE Super Blue or ATE Typ 200 depending on the fluid change since they are the same and it's easier to tell when all the fluid is fresh!!

- stock calipers
- ATE SuperBlue and Type 200 (every other change)
- Azenis 615 tires track and street

Front:
- AutoZone blank rotors
- Cobalt XR3's (XR2's on hand for when XR3's run out/or just for Expo!)

Rear:
- possibly stock rotors? if so, :bites nails: ---> will be going to AutoZone blanks
- Cobalt GTS (new compound)

I melted mine somewhat on the old GSR with the Legend/NSX setup, which required removing the heat shields.

You guys with the Legend rotors, no problem with fitment on the ITR caliper? I need new rotors and was considering those, but they're friggin' $67/rotor, compared to the Prelude VTEC ones I'd be using otherwise that are $23/rotor (!). I'm thinking 3 Prelude rotors will probably last longer than one Legend rotor, but I have no data to back that up.

When I ran the Legend rotors, I got multiple years out of them with both track and daily driving. You need the 28T Legend bracket for them to work, If you're on 4x100, you'll need to machine about 2.5mm off of the surface where it mounts. I gave my old set of machined brackets to a friend. I always liked those rotors, but yeah, they weren't cheap at all.

From what I've been told, you'd be an idiot to get rid of ABS as it works very well on our cars on the track. This is of course heresay.

The ITR ABS system is excellent. On the non-Rs, the system has mixed reviews compared to the ITR one. On my GSR, I kept the ABS system but had it disabled for a couple of track days and really liked it. I wouldn't remove it on an ITR though.

No hear say, it is a fantastic system on our cars. Just don't let yourself rely on it.
