Major update to the chumpcar build... fortunately the swap hadn't been purchased yet just due to all of the holiday stuff... well either way a mother/son duo that I'm good friends with are crx collectors. Yesterday they just acquired a very mint 91 si and will be taking the b16 swap out of this shitbox they currently have and taking the d16 out of the mint car.

Long story short, a very strong d16 (which I drove today) will be going into this hideous hunk of shit (which drives excellent, just looks horrible) and they offered a price that I couldn't say no to.... So the DC2 plan is getting axed for a turnkey car at a mere fraction of the cumulative cost of the dc2 build.

Say hello.

hot fire is correct sir... clean title too!

this car has been drove by a retired lady for the past few years and has a lot of sentimental value to her but I assured we'd do it justice.

teh hotness!

<- soft spot for CRX's.

What does the roof look like? SI's are known for having sunroof rust.

moonroof is fine... thinking about maybe removing the whole assembly and letting them take it back to lower the cost of the car and we'll have a panel welded in it's place. I'm not sure if chump requires that, but eventually somebody will.

Pending Keith's part-tay and the gun's meet, I'm wide open Jan/Feb. March is so far out I have nothing booked. Let's get some weekends on the books to work on this bad boy.

can national speed do the engine build so this can irrefutably be a "Chump car?"

just reposting since some of you may want/need some shoes for this
Erik95LS wrote:just thought I'd give you guys a heads up for anyone that may want some decent driving/race shoes. Saferacer is clearing out all their Lico stock at an ultra low price. Not a whole lot of sizes/colors left. Good SFI approved shoe built by sparco. I've got a pair and they're pretty nice. They aren't kidding about them running large though. Go down at least 1-2 sizes if you order any.

The chump race will be in Ohio, if you want to drive the option is there.

Ryan, I don't have a concrete weekend yet but I know it will be soon soon, Alan doesn't play around when it comes to projects.

fucking hell, just found that alan wiretucked this thing nearly two years ago. I never thought to look as it's the shitbox crx that his mom drives that nobody pays attention too. I guess it has never gave any problems, should it be a deal breaker? I'm not too keen on that sort of stuff.

Well. At least Alan did it. I wouldn't expect any issues with his work. The only problem is, what IF something crazy happens.
