Any webhost that is selling a "dedicated" plan will generally tell you if it's a virtual plan or not.
If it's a dedicated box in the true sense of the form you're normally assed out, 8 hours isn't a absolutely horrible response rate for a server with no redundancy.
Ticket was opened at 1pm.. Server locked up and had to be hard booted. After it came up hda was read-only mode. Its pretty easy to see that the hd need swapped or server moved.. They didn't start working on it until 7. They admitted to delaying the setup for whatever reason.
A real time back up server might come up in the mix (db is syncs already though), depends if my boss wants to fork out the cash.
Site still did 15k in the morning before the crash though, so wasn't a total bust day.

A REAL server wouldn't crash in the first place
Sorry, I couldn't resist

I love how my Droid no longer uploads pictures correctly. I can view all the images from today's LeMan's event downtime but I can't upload them to WTDR or Facebook. The phone says "file not found in XXXX directory."

Have you done the Froyo update yet?

Ryan, try getting Camera Magic from the market. See if that resolves your images issue.

Negative, but I'm deeply considering it. The plan is to wait for Chris to offer to do everything. I'm really looking forward to A.) a new upgraded OS and B.) a fresh image. I'm going to be very selective about the Apps I load this time around.
Dave_B wrote:Ryan, try getting Camera Magic from the market. See if that resolves your images issue.
I will check it out. The issues uploading occur both from Astra and the default picture gallery.

Froyo is WAY better IMO.
Just the way the system is designed, it runs much smoother.
As for the Camera Magic thing, not sure if is pertains only to me, or all Froyo users. But I know it's been recommended several times on the forum for Hero users on the CM6 (Froyo) ROM.

How do you like your battery life? Eric?

It's not bad. I can typically get through the day without charging. ATS made a big diff. I'll hit it about twice a day. With that said, my office is on the first floor which is literally in a little valley so I get horrible reception. Therfore the phone lingers around 1 bar most of the day. For this reason I know it sucks the battery a bit more than normal. Some days I find myself plugging the phone into my charger at the office around 4pmish for 15 minutes or so just to bump me up above 50% or so. This way I can ensure Pandora will be rockin' all the way home. With that said, I've read a lot of statements about how Pandora sucks your battery like hell. That's really not the case for me. I have a 35-40 minute drive to work in the morning and my battery meter doesn't budge.

I upgraded to Froyo on Wednesday and I also picked up the 1800mah battery yesterday. I took it off the charger this morning at 6:30am like normal and I'm usually at 70% battery life when I go to lunch. Right now I'm at 90% battery life.

It's nice that you can enlarge some things so easily now isn't it.

It's only 1mm larger, so it won't help your ego out that much Eric.

Friggin coworker won an ipad from one of our vendors. Pretty cool toy. Would I find it useful? no.

It's a radical novelty item though, I've warmed up to them a lot.

I'm actually going to be calibrating a friends home a/v receiver with it. I'm excited to see how it goes. Pioneer & Apple have a cool ap for doing so. F me for using "cool" and "Apple" in the same sentence.

Is the calibrating app only for the iPad? Does it work with Samsung TVs? I really want to get my Plasma calibrated but I don't want to pay someone to do it.

It works on any apple product i.e. Touch, pod, etc.
This is for the stereo system, not to be confused with the TV..
