LOL. If you wanted auto, she should have got you a P&S and some other things...

Well, my tuning is scheduled with LHT for August 25th!!!

Auto focus isnt really that big of a deal.. It doesnt change the picture drasticallly....

That's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is some shots you want to capture, the camera will not pick up on what your trying to do and thus force you to take the pics in manual mode. This has happened to me several times. The camera does see what I'm trying to focus on and doesn't have a focal point.

As far as picture quality between the 2, they should be pretty close if the settings are there.

Right on. I know what ur saying but only in the instance you listed above would it help me at this point....

True. I guess I'm just trying to learn the camera beyond the auto capability. Plus, later on I'm sure some of those settings can be changed to change the composure of the pic.

I guess :roll: I'd rather mess with the settings on the camera itself, seems there is a much bigger difference!

Both do.

FWIW That night pic of the tree was taken with a 13 second shutter and ISO 800 IIRC. You should take your camera out tonight and try it.

I'm going to try to get some sunset pics tonight.
