Nice! elelinux? how's it run?

rumor is official 2.2 is to roll out this month but you know how it it is..

What I run is Cyanogen Mod CM6 RC2.

Sprint will not officially release 2.2 for my phone since it's a Gen I Android phone and supposedly won't be able to handle 2.2

But a little OC work and it runs just fine on my phone.

Could anyone point me to an easy way to root my droid 2? I tried a couple of the walkthroughs with and without the use of a computer with no luck. Any input/help is appreciated.

All I can say is read, read and read some more.

I've always had good luck on that forum for anything Android related.

OK so my X is rooted...

Wireless tether installed and it works awesome!

What app is great and easy to use for increasing battery life?

Use either OC widget or SetCPU.

Over clock it for screen on, and under clock for screen off. Battery life will improve.

Also, don't leave things like Wireless, blue tooth and others on all the time. Turn them on as needed.

OC widget? I'm not finding anything?

SETCPU cost $$ but I assume is worth it for $2 eh?

I messed around with the new app "CPU TUNER" and you have to be a bit knowledgeable in Linux to figure it out. hehe Uninstalled

Don't know anything on CPU Tuner.

I've used both OC Widget in the market and SetCPU.

If you join XDA forums, you can get SetCPU for free.

Ok, phone talk needs its own thread or we need to change the name of this one. :)

Good to know! I joined there yesterday as that's where I got z4root from.

Brad - Ok, anyone have an iPad and want to tell me anything that's worthwhile about it? :P

LOL @ virtualization NOT being in here. :)

Technology, I have to call Dell AGAIN!!! This touchpad still is giving me troubles. Already called them a couple months ago and had them send me a new one. Now it's acting up again!!!

LOL actually since I had a previous ticket, the next step is a laptop upgrade. I made sure that was clear last time. Known issue with this Inspiron series laptops. :)

So they will go through the Dell diagnostic tests again, fail and then replace. WOOT!

get a mac with applecare and you won't have to worry about anything again, they'll replace a laptop/iphone/etc without hesitation.

I hate to be the guy pitching apples, but I'm just saying.....

Once upon a time Dell was better than Apple with warranty issues.

LOL, I can't justify the price of an MPB for web surfing at the house. :P

However, if the opportunity were to arise in the future to get one, I wouldn't say no.

You don't have to go full baller with one, they make semi-affordable options.

I couldn't justify a new one either. Used is your friend. :)

Semi affordable, as in more than $4-500 for cheapo Inspiron laptops? I couldn't justify any more on one.

I bought a one year old unit that was 1/3 the price of a new one. I say I made out well. That was for a mondo unit too. A Macbook (I know they call them MBP's now) would be even cheaper.

You can get a nice MacBook Air for $1300ish. If I were to buy a new laptop today for normal home usage, that would be the one! I don't see myself buying another Dell.

Any of the Apple guys ever used on of these?
