Actually it was a total loss, even all of my frequent backup points were useless. It couldn't even be brought back to factory settings and Apple even gave me a new phone because I stumped them (which I could have done by presenting a coloring book)

Oh correct, yeah that did work. I don't play games on my phone so I didn't take that into consideration. But yeah the restore worked on the new phone.
