Hey Rob, I am sooooo useless at taking and posting pictures, in fact I do not even have a dig camera.

I had something similar to what you describe, but w/o pictures I can't say.
I heard another time, major stuff got broken... Search for walker111's post about it.

Typical responses over there.

My suggestion is what your thinking, take a look at the compression and leak down to be sure. It's been known to come out of the valve and not be an issue, and I've seen it be an issue. Do those things first and foremost.

Now onto what your after, why did it happen?

I first think of 2 things. Carbon build up on the top of the piston causing closer tolerences (not likely, but a posibility)

Or a manufacuture defect. I'm leaning on assumption number 2.

Thanks Dave,

I'm thinking the same thing. My plugs were not old and the engine got new pistons @ 200,000kms.

I will update later.
