I'm planning to install 5mm wheel spacer for my 00 ITR running 225 width tire in the front for Autox. I'm guessing that I'll need to replace the wheel stud. I have no experience in wheel stud replacement, so I have a few question.
Do I need to take the brake and rotor out before bangging the stud out?
What kind of lubricant do I put between the spacer and the rotor? I heard I need to put something, so it is easier to get the spacer out if needed in the future (rotor replacement time?).
What if I don't replace the wheel stud? I wonder as it is only a 5mm spacer.
Any suggestion?
Install wheel spacer.. need replace stud??
Re: Install wheel spacer.. need replace stud??
i run a 5mm spacer with my 225 A6's mounted on millenia wheels up front. no issues using the stock studs - i can't remember how many turns i get on the nut, but it's definitely more than 5 full turns, and they torque to 85lbs-ft. didn't want to use open-ended nuts on the street, either, if only for cosmetic purposes (extended studs obviously necessitate this if you don't run the spacers all the time).
oh, and OT - my ITR has one foot out the door. if you want a set of millenia wheels to run in DS, i've got 4 sets to sell. keep your eye out for my FS thread that i'm gonna put together this week. all have fresh/mostly fresh tires, too (mixture of 205 V710, 225/205 A6 and Hoosier Wets).

Re: Install wheel spacer.. need replace stud??
I'd be all over a month ago. I just bought 4 millenia wheels.
BTW, did you put lubricant between the spacer and the wheel hub when you install the wheel spacer?
