Currently have a 2000R transmission has recently started to whine, anyone else know exactly what bearing it is in the transmission?

Can you describe the whine a bit better?

Does it happen when the clutch is out? Does it go away when the clutch pedal is depressed?

Any specific speed/gear when it's happening?

mine whines, too. low-pitched, audible at around 20mph, increasing in pitch up to about 60mph until it's high enough that i can't hear it anymore. happens regardless of what gear i'm in. not related to the clutch (isn't the throwout bearing). with my foot planted on the accelerator, no whine. with my foot off the accelerator, no whine. when i bleed speed in, whine. leads me to believe it's either the differential, or a bearing. does this sound similar to your whine?

Sounds bearing related, and at first guess I would say input shaft bearing, but you'll definitely have to pull it apart to determine exactly which one.
