Specifically the under-the-hood areas.
Although mine is quite clean it is starting to get grimy and dirty and I want to get my car looking sparkly for Expo10, what do you guys use the get that shine from the beautiful R engine and the surroundings.
Thanks!
How do you keep your R clean?
Re: How do you keep your R clean?
Simple Green
spray down cool (to touch) engine bay
let sit a few mins.
start car
spray off bay w/ water until simple green is gone
let engine run till most of the water has evaporated
Clean bay ftw!

Before you go hosing your engine be sure to cover up the distributor and be careful not to get any water in any of your spark plug cylinders. I did this same method of cleaning to mine last week, turned out looking great but I got a little water in my #1 cylinder. Not a big deal it just makes for extra work to do.

Yeah I knew about the distributor but what can I cover up my spark plugs with?

I dunno, maybe a plastic bag and a towel. Just keep an eye on them and be careful around it. Thats about it.marco wrote:Yeah I knew about the distributor but what can I cover up my spark plugs with?

Yeah, I'm a firm believer in Simple Green. It also works very well for cleaning foam air filters.
