Do you guys see a difference on my hood? A little 50/50 shot:





This is strictly JUST megs #21 sealer. No polishing done whatsoever. I'm pleased with the results as I just spent only two hours on it. (wayyy to hot to do any polishing, and no garage to do it in).

granted I would never do a full detail job for anybody as it takes far too long and would feel wrong for charging money as it's absolutely mindless labor, so you're more than welcome to use my stuff and make your CW a little prettier.

Ryan is a smart guy and is fully capable of polishing a car with a machine (in which i'll provide him with if when he's out here), the artful skill of taking swirl marks out of paint was not reserved for the top 99% percentile of inteligent humans. I don't know why some car detailers believe otherwise.

Experience w/ product and equipment just helps yield better results quicker, cheaper, and easier.

An intelligent person with no experience is still very capable of choosing the wrong pad with the wrong product and apply it in an incorrect way that will burn through the clear coat or in the PY world burn through the single stage where there is no point of return. Not saying that would happen with Ryan, just generally speaking as you seem to be doing.

I guarantee that I could let some "intelligent" joe shmo use my goods on half a section and I on the other and you would noticeably see the difference between the two. Difference in time, ease of work, amount of product used, and final result. (Not being cocky, just trying to prove my point)

Basically, I'm arguing your point as what good would it do Ryan to give him the tools/products with no experience on how to properly use? Again, saying that in a general manner as I'm sure you'd be there to give advice and monitor.

All in all, my checkbook comment was really a joke as I'm sure his proposition for doing all of his cars was. You offering your product and buffer is commendable. That's not to say if by the sheer miracle he and I were at the same location for an extended period of time where I had my equipment that I as well wouldn't hook him up.

I got the checkbook joke, but you have to remember that some might not get your humor as they don't know you personally like I do and write you off as a cocky SOB. I've seen it a lot from detail guys that think they are a gods gift to paint and keep their products/techniques as a secret because once anybody in case somebody else finds out how rediculously easy it is.

Granted of course I exclude the extreme pros out of the equation that actually measure swirls and use the rotary buffers but seriously with a 7424 you would have had to fall asleep with buffer in hand to burn your clearcoat and it'll still take car of the vast majority of the imperfections in the clearcoat.

I figured everyone just writes me off as an ITR newb with a lot of questions and ignores me regardless of what I have to say.

Paint correction is by no means an extreme science. However, doing it on the side I've learned A LOT and am still learning to this day. My biggest warning to newbs with a 7424 is not that they may damage the paint, rather not to expect results such as those you drool over on at autopia. However, with instruction and proper technique you will quickly learn.

I too am frustrated with all the "detailers" who attempt to hide any possible trade secret. It's annoying and is put in the same boat as the hellaflush cali boyz.

To be honest dude when I'd do my M3 I never had a problem getting every last swirl out with a 7424, ccs pad and menzerna IP

Yep Rotaries are overrated these days with the new microabrasive polishes. I actually sold the flex that I had because I just never wanted to use it. Same goes for a good friend down south who opts for the orbital 9/10 times.

A random orbital with the right pad & product will do practically any job in a close timeframe. Plus I tend to use a considerable less amount of product and I can spend my time getting all the nook ad crannies without worrying about burning the paint so quickly.

I just have to figure out how to polish out rust. Need more polish probably.

We could duct tape over rust, actually I'm really leaning towards hanging on to it and making her pretty. On a side note Jack gave me a proposition I couldn't refuse last night so ol' rusty is still on the back burner.
