Thinking about getting a DSLR, not for professional use just for fun.

Good deal or not?

It's not a bad deal, but I would HIGHLY recommend the T2i over the T1i for just a few more dollars.

X2 the t2i is a hell of a lot of camera for it's price tag

FYI I'm thinking about selling my Canon 30D and upgrading DSLR's. My price would be about half that with a kit a 18-55 kit lense.

Get that shit jack, it's ballin. These new DSLR's that shoot usable (and awesome) video is like having a swiss army knife hanging from your neck.

Also, I'm glad that everybody on here at least shoots canon

Hitler Downfall video (they made one when the 7D came out as well)

Yeah, there are a few misguided souls floating around, but mostly smart people :P

made me watch this again. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H_H8TOKcfjg

Jack either one is good, but I'd personally rather save some cash for more (or better) lenses than get the 2i with the same crappy kit lens.

when does the 60D come out? I wouldn't mind having two bodies, even though my ass can't find my chargers for my 30D nor have I used the camera stuff lately :(

Exactly my thoughts. I have an XTI which I've been dying to get an upgraded lens for. A decent body with gangster glass will produce better shots than an expensive body with poop glass.

oh yeah and I can't find my canon chargers, so I may need to borrow someones charger for my 30D batts.

The kit is a good deal. I would save and get a 28-135 IS to replace the kit lense. I think that's a better all around shooting lense, and it's affordable.
