Finally!!! My New caR!!!

Post by 96ls »

After attending Expo 6 I've wanted to get a new caR. It really started before that, but meeting all you guys at Gingerman really pushed me over the edge. After 4 years and 2 Expos I finally am a proud owner.

She's a 2000 with 110,xxx on the clock. Pretty much stock except for 6K HID's (which are coming off) 5Zigen FN01RC wheels, Function 7 lca's and PIC coilovers. I spoke with Joe (Doespike) to try and figure out her badge number since it has a blank badge. What he was able to come up wit it somewhere around #1207. He doesn't have enough cars close enough to mine to be exact. But either way I'm proud to finally be an owner among this great community of people.

Heres a teaser picture, It rained the entire 4 hour ride home last night and i had to work today so she will be detailed tomorrow and better pics will be posted.

I'd also like to say thanks to Jon D for inviting me to my first Expo and also R.Kelley, Skelley, Victor, Bow Dwn, Doespike, Canuckr, Arod, and everyone else that has made my Expo experiences memorable and making me want to come back!

After a long morning of washing, claybarring, and waxing her theis is the final result... Here in the next few days the 5 Zigen wheels will find their new home upon my del sol in the last picture and the stock ITR wheels will be back where they belong...And if anyone has a stock airbox they are willing to let go, please let me know!

I'm glad to hear that you made it to Expo and have already become so familiar with a great list of individuals in this community. I'm sorry I did not meet you at Expo but I look forward to meeting you soon at a PA Meet or Thanksgiving meet in the future.

Rock on!

I think it was those touring laps in my car that pushed him over the edge, he had quite a grin on his face ;-)

Well, this wasn't exactly planned. I came across it on craigslist and it was a deal i couldn't pass up or would have kicked myself in the ass repeatedly if i did pass it up

Nice pick up....Welcome to the community....

Any particular reason for getting rid of the hid's?

After having a s2k for years, all headlights suck as far as I am concerned if they are not hid's....

I am tempted to do a retro fit on my 97'

im curious also? you not like the color of the 6k? i had some 10k's in my 97R. i can say they work better than standard bulbs forsure. i didnt care for the color much, but i got them for free (stole them out a buddies car right before he traded it lol). one of them just died :( so im back to OEM bulbs...

Don't get me wrong, I love the HID's but they are a cheap ebay type plug and play kit. The light output is terrible, and something in the passenger side bulb is loose and i can see it moving back and forth while driving down the road.
I would love to do a proper retrofit but that will be a long way off.

I had actually went to the bank with full intentions of trying to buy your car...but they wouldn't lend me enough until i got rid of my del sol.

That's two people so far this week. :( Other guy who went to the bank was told the same thing. He has to do a lot of crazy stuff to get a loan for the car, which he estimates will take roughly a month to get together everything they want. At this rate I will still have the car at that time. :(
