Hoping this is the proper place to post this but what's a good camcorder for recording HPDE events, etc.? Budget is around $200. Thinking about doing some more events and was hoping to record them so I could learn from all the things I do wrong.

I hear good things about the Go Pro camera's from a few folks on here. I'm sure they will chime in with their personal opinions.

goproHD is your best bet right now. Especially after seeing one fall 80,000 feet and still operate I was impressed.

I just picked mine up and will be in heavy use this weekend.

Up your budget just a hair and you'll get a lot for your money.

I like that you said HPDE events rather than Expo events. More people need to get out of that bubble and explore other events! 8)

GoPro HD Widescreen can be bought for your price range. Friggin insane quality for the pricetag. Soon enough we'll be mounting our cell phones to our windshield for video. ha!

I met a guy through Andy last weekend that had less than $180 in his setup. He'l be at the Mid Ohio event this weekend in his TSX. He purchased it off Amazon.

I've used a GoPro & a few other camera's out there... but I'm def most impressed with my new ContourHD 1080P. They have a 720p also, but unsure of price. For the quality in picture & sound, IMO it's way better than GoPro! Here's a vid link from Expo.

What, no suction cups? :)

The cool thing about gopro's is that they're so widely used now that you'll never have an issue being let on track with it in regards to safety issues.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm still shopping around but leaning towards the Go Pro. I'll let you know what I end up getting. Hopefully I'll put one to use later this year at another event.

There's a store in NC called superbikesupply, they sell them for $219 but rarely have them in stock as they instantly sell out. If you don't mind waiting that's who I'd get it from.
