NEED HELP ON TRUNK!!!
Will today was a very nice day, so i decided to go fishing and take #873 out of hibernation with me. YES i do take My ITR fishing, just because she likes the OUTDOORS also Anyways it had been very cold over here in Montana. like low 30s at night. i started the ITR to warm her up like i always do and went to open the trunk to put my walmart fishing pole in. As soon as i push the trunk lever this WEIRD BUZZING sound came on and it wouldn't let me open the trunk!!! i kept trying and it just kept buzzing. so finally i had to use the key and open the trunk manually. I was thinking it has been cold so maybe water got into the lock or something and made it froze. Has anyone on here ever had this problem?? If so, What the hell is it and do i have to take the rear panel off to fix it? i hate ripping apart 873 I never had a problem with my ITR b4 and i hope this is the last. Any help would be great. thanks ITRCA

Re: NEED HELP ON TRUNK!!!
Sounds like your actuator died sir.
Part Number: 74840-ST7-A01
It's not that difficult of an install.

Mine does the exact same thing. I just haven't taken the time to really look into it. I would think that the actuator is the likely culprit.

Symptom: can't open hatch via lever alone; must use key to forward assist it.wego5 wrote:Mine does the exact same thing. I just haven't taken the time to really look into it. I would think that the actuator is the likely culprit.

It's a common part to fail in these cars.

I take my ITR hunting until the salt comes out on the roads.

Glad you fixed your problem with the actuator. Like Steve said....common problem.
