The official "Tools Wanted" thread

Post by TurboLS »

So, as http://www.AutomotiveSpecialtyTool.net progresses along, we'd like to get a running tally of all of the tools in which people are interested for borrowing/lending purposes.

We plan on incorporating something similar on our site to help users prioritize which tools to post up, etc...

We encourage those who have any combination of these to post them up, at no charge, on AutomotiveSpecialtyTool.net

We will be checking this thread periodically for updates, etc.

If the tool is make or model specific, please indicate that as well as part numbers/manufacturers whenever possible.

Thanks for any and all input.

And what if lender's tool(s) are not returned, lost or damaged beyond repair?
How does the lender get compensated in one of the above situations?
The lender would have to document the condition before and after, sounds like a PIA.

Doesn't sound like a chance I'd want to take.

Good questions!

First of all, the lender can define a deposit that is held essentially in escrow (a paypal account managed by us to protect both parties) until both parties agree to a successful transaction.

And yes, we do preach that you monitor the condition of the tool at the following stages: before sending to borrower (if you're a lender), when you receive it from a lender (if you're a borrower), after you use it and before you send it back (if a borrower), and after you receive it back from the borrower (if you're a lender).

At the moment, we have an email account set up to accept email descriptions w/ attached photos that specify the transaction ID and tool ID (information found in order history and confirmation emails). We hope to have this process automated through the site in the future, but for the moment, this is what we're working with.

I encourage you to take a gander at the site, the tools currently listed, etc. so you can get an idea for what information is displayed/required and also take a look at the "How it Works" link located here: http://www.automotivespecialtytool.net/faqs.php

Let me know if you have any questions, comments, etc.

Cheers,

Ramzi
