i have a PY ITR with an exedy stage 1 clutch, AEM CAI, and some falken azenis tires. What should i do next to my car. I was thinking maybe a new exhaust or a carbon fiber hood. If i go with a new exhaust what do all of you suggest.
thanks for the suggestions!!!!
What should i do to omy ITR next?...suggestions needed
I love my Mugen, it sounds trick, not at all ricey. I run it without a cat, and it's still not at all raspy. It's got a nice deep tone, and flows pretty well.
Carbon hood is also cool. I actually got rid of mine cause there are 3 other Yellow ITRs in my city that now all have carbon hoods. I switched back to stock; funny, cause now they're the unoriginal ones....hahahahh. Any way, carbon hoods are cool, as long as you get them clear coated, cause if you don't they eventually start to seperate and look like crap. I had mine for about 2 years before it did, but I never clear coated it, so I guess that's why. Any way, http://www.importfan.com has some trick double sided carbon hoods, they're not much more expensive than the normal ones, and they have carbon all along the bottom, so this way it doesn't just look like black fiber glass.
The best fitting carbon hoods that aren't an arm and a leg are Fiber Images and Carbon Works. You could also get the spoon one, but having seen several, other than fitting perfectly, you're paying for the name. not to mention the one we had on our civic started to seperate after a little over a year, though it was a hard track year where it rained a lot, and I guess from the combination of the rain and the heat, it just did it in all that much faster.
Any way, good luck,
Aj

If you want a little more torque go with a 4-2-1 header. MSD SCI ignitions are pretty affordable and give you a little more spark, thus top end kick. A rear strut bar is helpful in the twists. Needless to say (but I'll say it anyway an alarm is a good precautionary measure, even if you are on a deserted island.

MSD is one of those things that is necesary for boost or spray, but for all motor is just one more thing to go wrong. The worlds fastest all motor honda still runs a stock ignition system. I assume it's for good reason.
Any way, if you really insist on changing anything with your ignition, just get some wires, believe it or not, that'll do more than an MSD on an all motor car.
Good luck,
Aj

Yeah I heard the MSDs give out after a while and when they do you can definitely tell (I can't wait!) b/c they make the car run like crap. However, my mechanic, who has been working on Hondas for almost 30 years and is a former racer, said not to take it off b/c it really does make a difference at high rpms. When (if) I get a day off maybe I'll take it off and see.
-thanks for the injectors AJ, they're going on Thursday

You should, I've had a number of friends that have tried MSD on all motor cars and have fried their electrical systems after a while.
Now, obviously, as the saying goes, there are many ways to skin a cat, but if Erick's Racing, who ran 10.24 in the quarter in an all motor honda says that stock ignition is best for an all motor car, than, I'll buy into that. Supposedly the stock ignition system is good till something like 300 to the wheels, but until that point, MSD really doesn't do anything on the dyno, or at least, nothing worth changing.
Though, if you have the money, there is power to be gotten in the ignition department, in this case, in the form of direct fire, something like TecIII or another similar standalone will make a good amount of power, but once again, hp for dollar, not at all worth it. Though it'll give you loads of tunability later.
Peace,
Aj
