I'm going to be in the market for an R soon and I was just wondering how much I should expect to pay for a '98 cw R. Thanks.

They usually range in price from 16,000 to 20,000 at the highest. But expect to pay around 18,000. for a good one.

i'd say figure $16,000-$16,500 for one. I paid $17,000 a year ago for a 98 in perfect shape with only 30,000 miles on it.
